Generation Citizen Selected by New Profit to Receive $1.5 Million Multi-Year Grant

We are honored to announce that Generation Citizen was chosen to receive a $1.5 million multi-year Build grant from the venture philanthropy organization New Profit.

These grants were awarded to organizations who “drive transformational change” in democracy, economic mobility, and education in America. This funding will be coupled with strategic advisory support from New Profit over the next four years

This partnership will enable Generation Citizen to continue working toward our mission of an inclusive, multiracial democracy – supporting student success through Community-Based Action Civics and partnering with hundreds of schools across the nation.

We would also like to take this moment to introduce Generation Citizen’s new Chief Partnerships & Regions Officer, Laurie Carr! An equity-focused lifelong educator, Laurie brings to GC extensive experience in school leadership, teacher coaching, and district administration across three of our regions.

Laurie’s arrival in conjunction with the New Profit partnership will prove integral to GC’s ongoing efforts to deepen our impact, expand our reach, and drive systemic change in democracy education and action civics.

We would like to extend our gratitude to the New Profit team for selecting us for this investment, and we look forward to sharing the impact of these collaborations in the years to come.
