Lee Sturm-Guidry (he/they) is a social studies and music teacher at Harding Fine Arts Academy High School in Oklahoma City, OK. They received their Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education from Oklahoma State University and are certified in social studies and mathematics education. Lee’s passion for teaching and commitment to their students led to their recognition as the 2021 HFAA Teacher of the Year Award, as well as Generation Citizen’s 2021 Oklahoma Teacher Changemaker Award. Outside of HFAA, Lee works as a fellow with Oklahoma A+ to help bring art-integration activities into the classroom, enhancing student learning, and is a member of the OKC Symphonic Community Band’s trumpet section. Before teaching, Lee was an active member of the Cowboy Marching Band and served as president of Kappa Kappa Psi, National Honorary Band Fraternity.
Lee joined the Teacher Leadership Board in 2022, having served as a GC teacher for three years, where they successfully integrated Community-based Civics and fostered real-world advocacy for students. Lee is an advocate for student success, firmly believing that elevating student voices is essential to shaping the next generation of community leaders.
Outside the classroom, Lee enjoys spending time with their partner and pets, watching sports, and playing board games with friends.
