My students Action Civics Project was about school renovations. Within this project they learned about the costs for the things that they want to either improve our building or to create a brand new facility. Their eyes and minds were opened to the fact that to renovate, improve or to build something new costs more than they would ever have anticipated. They learned not only how to advocate for themselves but also how to educate others and how to sell their needs/wants while being mindful about a budget.
