Bay Area Civic Tech Challenge
Hackathon & Awards Reception | Saturday November 5, 2016
At Generation Citizenās second annual Bay Area Civic Tech Challenge, weāre bringing together top Bay Area tech innovators with passionate middle and high school students for a day-long hackathon that will create solutions for some of the Bay Areaās toughest problems. Young people from the Generation Citizen action civics program connect with developers, digital marketers, graphic designers, data analysts and more to build civic tech innovations that accelerate their ability to advance change on local issues.
Our evening awards reception will highlight each teamās work, as they present their ideas to 200+ local innovators and a judging panel of some of the Bay Areaās top civic and technological leaders.

Young people from the Generation Citizen action civics program connect with developers, digital marketers, graphic designers and data analysts to build civic tech innovations that accelerate their ability to advance change on local issues.
Our awards reception will highlight each teamās work, as they present their ideas to 250+ local innovators, event honoree Diane Hessan, and a judging panel of Greater Bostonās top civic leaders.

Generation Citizen Civics Day
Civics Day is our studentsā end-of-semester project showcase, held in each site in mid-December for our fall and mid-May for our spring classes and presents a unique opportunity for students to take pride in their projects, advocate for their issues to a local audience, and collect feedback on their plans from panels of judges.
Civics Day will take place the following dates and in the following cities:
- Boston –Ā December 16, 2016
- Rhode Island – December 12, 2016
- New York –Ā December 14, 2016
- San Fransisco – Ā December 6, 2016
