How Texas Teaches History, The New York Times: An opinion article on how the specific wording in Texas history textbooks changes how that history is taught.  An important piece in thinking about who gets to tell history.

 

Are Turnaround Districts the Answer for America’s Worst Schools, The Heckinger Report: More and more districts become state-run in an attempt to improve results.  Track record is mixed, but it looks like this strategy will be implemented even more going forward.

 
Education Reform and the Failure to Fix Inequality in America, The Atlantic: Can education actually help curb inequality?  Results from the last few decades, on the country aggregate overall, are not promising.
