Richard Sheppard is a seasoned educator with a decade of experience teaching social science in Los Angeles’ San Fernando Valley. He has a strong foundation in instructional coaching and curriculum development. Richard is committed to supporting teachers in creating engaging learning environments and empowering young people to become changemakers in their communities and beyond. He is immensely excited to join Generation Citizen and support its mission.
A graduate of Temple University with a Master’s degree in Education, Richard has also been honored with a Stanford University Hollyhock Fellowship where he continued to develop his pedagogical approach rooted in the principles of education as liberation, equitable access for all learners, and culturally sustaining pedagogy. Beyond his professional accomplishments, Richard enjoys playing the guitar, traveling with his wife, reading a hundred reviews before making a purchase, and eating delicious food.
