Sarah Kelly

Sarah joins GC with more than 15 years of experience leading fundraising, communications and strategy for education and youth development nonprofits. A former high school English teacher in New York City, she has spent her career since leaving the classroom securing funding to support teachers and students in historically underserved communities in Boston, NYC and across the country. Her work with organizations such as Boston Teacher Residency, New Visions for Public Schools, National Center for Teacher Residencies, and the Urban Assembly has given her deep insight into the needs of students and teachers, as well as strong relationships with leaders in both education and philanthropy.

Sarah worked closely with many of GC’s staff for more than a year as a development consultant, so she comes to the team with extensive knowledge of GC’s mission, programming and approach to the work. She has long had a passion for meaningful, engaging civic education, and is eager to dive in to drive increased and diversified revenue for GC in the coming months and years.
